Plant-A-Row

Gardeners have a special kind of faith – an unwavering belief that once a seed is tucked into the dark, damp ground, it will grow. We’re hoping to share that faith this year with “Plant-A-Row”, a program to provide fresh produce to those in need. Come Spring, we’re asking gardeners – new and experienced – to plant anything from an extra row to an extra planter (although we’re discouraging additional zucchini for reasons all gardeners will understand). As the plants produce, just bring in the extra bounty on Sunday. We’ll place it out between services to share with church members and friends who are in need. (donations will be accepted, but not required). Whatever is not claimed, will go to local food pantries.
This is the first year FCC is participating in the Plant-A-Row program, and we hope we will be able to grow this into a food ministry. At some point in the future, we’ll be asking for volunteers to help pick, plant, and harvest – but in this cold winter, all we are asking is for people willing to plant some hope.
If you would like to be involved directly or by donation please contact the Church Office. email: secretary@brlfcc.org
